The AFS Youth Assembly is a global platform that cultivates an international network of young leaders and changemakers through exchange, education, action and impact. The 31st AFS Youth Assembly invites passionate young leaders aged 18-35 to join a global community of changemakers. This event goes beyond dialogue—it’s about action. Through engaging sessions, networking with peers from around the world, and ideation challenges, you’ll gain the skills and connections to create lasting impact, guided by experts and practitioners.

How the program works

Through a variety of expert-led talks with UN officials and global policy leaders, interactive skills workshops and training sessions, multilateral conferences and diplomacy simulations, exclusive guided visits to UN agencies and international organizations, career development and mentoring sessions participants will immerse themselves in the world of the United Nations in the global city of Geneva.

The Academy is designed to be interactive and participatory, combining lectures, group discussions, case studies, practical exercises, and role-playing simulations. Participants will actively engage in problem-solving activities, share insights, and apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios. Multimedia tools and real-world scenarios bring learning to life, helping you build confidence, critical thinking skills, and practical experience for international environments.

Program Description: Intercultural Leadership Academy

Nestled in the beautiful Swiss Alps (Champéry), this retreat-style Academy is all about self-discovery and cross-cultural mastery.

  • The Experience:Participate in interactive simulations, personal reflection sessions, and hands-on workshops in an authentic Swiss mountain setting.
  • The Benefit: Learn to navigate complex cultural differences, adapt your leadership style, and earn an official Certificate from AFS Switzerland.
