July 4-9, 2010, AFS Thailand organized the Preparation Language and Culture Course for 20 YPysNH10/USA and 5 YPscNH10/US-Embassy scholarship participants. This program operated since 2006 with the cooperation of the American University Alumni or A.U.A. Language Center. The course was divided into four different topics focusing on English usage skills, American culture, presentation and IT.
At the opening ceremony, the representative from the US Embassy, Mr. John Paul Schutte, the Cultural Affairs officer, gave the welcome speech in Thai. At the closing ceremony, AFS Thailand received the great honor from His Excellency Mr. Eric G. John, U.S. Ambassador to Thailand, who addressed the congratulation speech, gave advices, and presented the certificates of completion to all students.
The event completed with success. The students gained more confidence, thank to all AUA lecturers led by Mr. Jeffrey Taschner, Supervisor of AUA Teacher Education Department, and the great support from the U.S. Department of States and the U. S. Embassy in Thailand.
